Photo: Starting with the cement board after we mapped out where each of the tiles would go.
I had very fussy Drew duty while AJ did the dirty work. (I did dirty work too, but it was the kind on the changing table, not in the entryway.)
Up close and personal. We chose tiles to match our counter tops (after three trips to Home Depot… do those count as date nights?… we chose these) but left a layer of grout on top to give it a little more of a honed look instead of the shiny feel of our counter tops.
The nearly finished product. AJ has to make two tile cuts for the very end and then replace the trim work. After seeing the new marble it made us realize we want a new door. Priority #24343.
The boys in their matching church outfits. Hokey, I know, but I love it. 🙂
Our paperwhites are giving us hope that spring is coming… in two agonizingly long months. 🙂
On a different note… would you believe that AJ put those two topiaries in my stocking? I mean, how many people can honestly say that they’ve had a bush in their Christmas stocking. Not many, I’d guess. 🙂
Jen, your house is going to look amazing, amazing, amazing. I might need to send you some pics of mine for decorating advice. 🙂 P.S. Your little guy is cute, cute, cute.
First of all: I dress as twinsies with Story all the time so I LOVE it that AJ and Drew are doing it too!!
Secondly, the tile looks amazing! Tile is hard to do–you all are talented!
Every project I do makes me want to do 6 billion others. I have to keep reminding myself that this is not our “forever house”.
Thank you for the encouragment! 🙂
Natalie, I’d looove to see photos of yours and give ideas, that would be so fun! What is your current blog address?
Anna, I think you should post pictures on FB of you and Story dressing as twins. 🙂 I TOTALLY understand wanting to do 6 billion more projects after completing one!
I love the paperwhites on your mantle, Jen! I’ve read they are easy to grow… and perhaps this is just the encouragement I need to try it out. I need a bit of spring, too – its only 7 degrees outside 🙂
Soooo,…. 1st-I am in love with the tile and want to copy that idea, fabulous job! 2nd-I dress us all coordinating as often as possible and don’t even pay attention to the ridicule anymore 🙂 3rd-looks like you are doing an amazing job adjusting to the life of a mom along with the 90 million other titles you already had! It gets busy and crazy but totally worth all of it…
