Our friends Brian and Jade are getting married in August (pictured below)
and we just got the most fabulous wedding invitation from them… it had to be hand delivered. It was a book wrapped in Kraft paper and tied with twine with a burlap type rose.
After I gingerly opened the package (I was dying to just rip it open) this is what I found… a library card (that Jade had ordered from a library supply store online) with the dates of all their significant events (first date, first kiss, engagement and then some less significant events but that were meaningful to them as a couple. Jade is seriously creative, she always make journals out of old books (hence the invite theme) and wanted to include the entire book in the invite packet so she used a piece of fabric on the right to secure all the pages together. Their photo and the wedding invite was under the fabric.
absolutely incredible!! My mom may have some vintage plates she is willing to sell to them if they are still looking. Her antique collection is unbelievable!! Are they looking for all the same or different plates?
I just have to say I never ever saw a cloth rose on a twine in lieu of a sealing wax. What an original and marvellous idea. Genuinely unique. Congratulations to whoever thought of it!
