I am the lone female in a testosterone riddled house right now, AJ is hosting a bachelor cookout for Brian Carlson tonight (remember how his fiance made those fabulous book wedding invites?) and Drew is up sleeping… I crave nights like tonight when I can relax and do whatever I want… I’ve got House Beautiful on the coffee table, the leftovers of the guys’ cookout (best potato salad I’ve ever made, by the way (I think it was the extra seasoning that sort of feel out of the jar, oops, but best oops ever) and some new photos of Drew that I just uploaded. I climbed in his crib with him this morning and helped him stand up and hold onto the side of the crib… it was too cute not to photograph so I laid him down and dashed downstairs… here are some of the photos that I came up with before he fell.
He decided to take a break from hamming it up for the camera to do what he loves best… eat things. In my mind’s eye I saw the crib after it becomes a foot board (it’s one of those convertible cribs) with the person sleeping in the bed wondering where all of those little teeth marks came from.
I’m coming back after about half an hour after helping pick some of the dinner. The guys (11 of them) are inside playing the card game Bunco (I’m not going to lie to you, this bachelor party isn’t stereotypical. At All. They are going to end the night praying over Brian as he enters into marriage on Sunday.) But now I’m sitting on my bed eating a burger, corn and potato salad and an amazing glass of Barefoot wine’s Pinot Grigio. They are some of the most inexpensive wine out there but I just love it. I digress… back to business… look at this little handsome boy, he’ll be a heart breaker.
Speaking of him being a heart breaker, is it weird that I’m so excited to teach him how to deal with girls? I want to raise a boy / man who knows how to treat women well because trust me, I can definitely tell Drew what to avoid when dealing with the fairer sex (asking you out in the middle of Shaws (grocery store), critiquing every little thing you do (including not stapling completely straight) and telling a woman she should wear a head covering because it’s biblical (no joke, this happened to my sister on a date).
Drew was so into his mobile today… couldn’t stop staring at it. Except for when he was involved with biting his crib.
That’s all for now… I’m off to get onto my obsession Pinterest and also to google “beach nurseries” to see what I come up with… but before that I just looked at this “pin”. I’m in love with the crisp navy walls and white cabinets, well, okay, I’m in love with everything in this room except for the chandelier.
