I got an idea from one of my favorite blogs, Bower Power, to do a 12 days of Christmas theme for the next twelve days, which means we will end on Christmas Eve. Hopefully by the end of the season you will have some new fabulous ideas to add to your arsenal.
I’ve been brainstorming ways to bring tradition into Christmas, especially since we have a little guy now it makes me excited… growing up my Dad would always save our Christmas tree stumps and label them with the year. He had them all lined up on his work bench in the basement… some years the trees were totally enormous and others had scrawny stumps.
I loved this idea from Better Homes and Gardens this month. Since we only have one tree stump we’ve saved so far it would look a little silly hanging from the mantle, so that’s why you see it just displayed on our mantle now. I’d like to write one notable thing on the stump to remember the year by… I think “Drew’s First Christmas” is a pretty big deal, right? 🙂
Do you do anything special with your tree stumps? Any people starting new traditions this year?
That is so special!! Why didn’t I think of that years ago??? You will cherish those little stumps years from now!
Thank Noelle! Any ideas for other traditions to start?
