Welcome to a house tour of my mom’s house… she had a reputation of making Kim, Dad and I walk around a tree farm for around two hours searching for the perfect tree… those two hours were never in vain, and you’ll see why… her tree always looks stunning and the shape is unbeatable (unlike our $12 Building Center tree that more closely resembles Charlie Brown’s than my parents’ tree).
I remember when they were looking for houses that I thought this one looked like the house out of Father of the Bride (aka: my dream house). She puts up white candles in every window and they always look stellar.
I love their front door with her simple wreath. I’m also in love with the color of the front door… it’s a mix between black and navy I think.
Here is the perfect tree! Could that shape be any more perfect? Over the years she and my dad have collected Reed and Barton bells for the tree, they were hands down my favorite thing to put out each year. Mom is meticulous and shines the bells and irons the ribbons each year before we could put them out.
Here are some of my fave ornaments… I love this glass one that they got on their first Christmas together more than 31 years ago! And I love that they have a Whitinsville ornament even though all of us are on the North Shore now… we lived there for 17 years and it’s weird not to go home there anymore… although basically fab that they are only 15 minutes away now.
Her simple mantle done with clippings from their tree…
After I fell in love with Mom’s nativity set she and my dad bought me my own set!
Here is their dining room. I love the centerpiece on the table… gosh, I love those greens.
This is the buffet table in their dining room with the amazing lamp that my mom practically stole out of someone’s cart (okay, that is an exaggeration) but don’t you love it?
This is a new wreath she just purchased and put it on the door of the bathroom on the first floor… you know, the first one Drew runs to go straight to stick his hands into the toilet water. Oh brother.
Remember how I mentioned in my letter to my mom that she still used the ugly towel I gave her years ago just because she is that good of a mom? Well, here it is… right in her great black and white half bath. 🙂
And finally, their kitchen! 🙂
This is Mom’s really sweet pinecone wreath that is on the wall in her kitchen… I just love it.
Well, Friends, what is your favorite part? What are your plans for Christmas?
Thanks for joining me for almost the entire Twelve Days of Christmas! 🙂
