Drew and I left early early this morning for a day trip to Maine to visit them fam. AJ is painting this morning and then he has a couple of his former cross-country runners coming over to help him do a project… but I’m not going to tell you what, you’ll see tomorrow. 🙂
As I was driving to a meeting yesterday I was thinking about what this summer means to me and thought I’d fill you in… with some summer pics taken at Tuck’s Point, where our rehearsal dinner was:
Summer is… (at least, Summer of 2012)
Sandy feet… that get all over our kitchen floor constantly.
Learning to swim and jumping into Daddy’s arms (as seen here at Tuck’s Point).
Fresh fruit and veggies (and maybe summer is also characterized by those hideous fruit flies that are ever present).
Painting projects… both inside and out with relaxing beachy colors.
Beach days… almost every day…
Lemonade and Raspberry-Lime Seltzer.
Eating on the patio. With bug spray in hand.
If you didn’t see the blog yesterday back up and check out the recipe for this. Amazing.
Not having AJ’s alarm clock go off… even though it doesn’t really matter since I wake up at 5:30ish naturally.
Rotating my two favorite pairs of J. Crew shorts.
Chickens wandering the yard.
Somehow he has far less fear of their talons than I do.
He hits them. I run away. 🙂
Guilt-free ice-cream trip (well, almost guilt free)
Extra miles logged running (somehow this flows naturally from the one above. :))
Look at that big belly! Ask Drew where his belly is… he’ll show you. 🙂
Fans going at all hours. Yes, we are cheap (and possibly stupid) and don’t have AC.
Two showers a day. One in the morning after running and one in the evening after the beach.
I love the outstretched arms.
What does summer mean to you?
And is it weird that I start my brainstorming about Christmas every July? 🙂
