So many of you have been asking me about Baby Girl’s nursery… and a while ago, in May of 2011, I put together a mini mood board of ideas for Baby Girl’s nursery. It’s evolved some as it has become a very real thing of having a little girl (and got even more real for AJ when I brought home a tutu I found at Target for $1.80 yesterday :)).
I’ll jog your memory that the entire nursery will be built around one of my all time favorite children’s books, Miss Rumphius. I’ll have framed photos of the book as a gallery in the room.
One of my newest loves is this set in lilac from Restoration Hardware. I love the trellis pattern and how it isn’t too baby-ish (which was also my goal with Drew’s room). It’s not cheap. Luckily I have credit card points that work at Restoration Hardware. Have I mentioned that getting a credit card with good rewards is essential (at least for me)? I got so many amazing things for my kitchen pre-AJ days for free from credit card points that I cashed in at the Williams-Sonoma / Pottery Barn outlet. I’ve found it’s a far better deal to trade in credit card points at somewhere you go to all the time (for us it’s Home Depot) than turning it into cash… just a word to the wise. 🙂
These mirrors will make an appearance in the room as well.
Now, I need your opinion here… seriously, people, weigh in.
1. What would you do for a rug if this was the bedding collection? A tan, a gray, a lavender? I’m going to be doing all white trim and accents with touches of silver to add a little glam. After all, where else can we work the girly-ness? Certainly not with my boy who loves trucks and chickens. Even though he is sort of obsessed with sniffing candles. 🙂
2. I’m going to ask my Dad to make the mobile if I can’t think of something to make on my own (surprise, Dad!). He made Drew’s and it turned out adorably. See it here. What would you do for the mobile to incorporate the book above (using the theme flowers, gardens, birds, etc)? I have a good idea that just came to me while typing… but what do you think?
Have a wonderful weekend! We have fun plans every day, I hope you have something wonderful planned! Oh, and I may be making this recipe for crock pot hot chocolate that my friend Jenna sent me, delish, right?
This post was sponsored by eDiaperCakes… You know I love parties so I’m going to pretend I’m throwing a boy, a girl and a gender neutral shower and I’ll show you my picks from each of those categories on their website (each “cake” is made with 73 -78 Pampers size 1 diapers).
If I were throwing a boy shower I’d use this adorable Hungry Caterpillar cake, the book is a complete hit in our house and I think this would make an adorable shower theme as well:
Now, for the pink shower… I saw this super cute Elephant Rattle diaper cake and knew it was the one for a girly shower, not only because I love elephants but because I love the sweet pink baby blanket wrapped around the bottom as well.
Lastly, if I were going to do a gender neutral shower for someone I’d use the color green as my base for the shower and then use this Guess How Much I Love You cake (and book!) as the theme for which I base the party around. Isn’t that book so sweet?
Head on over to eDiaperCakes next time you host a shower… or need a fabulous gift to give!
