When we went to a pumpkin festival before Halloween this year I sampled a chocolate dipped Oreo. It was amazingly delicious. When our neighbor brought us over a Christmas card with a little ornament yesterday I realized I better make a little treat for the couple of families that we love in the neighborhood before it gets too late. I’ve been making a lot of cookies and breads and was a little sick of it so I decided to try something new…
Here is what you need:
Yep, it’s that simple, just a bag of Andes Creme de Menthe baking chips and some Oreos.
Put your mints in a microwave safe bowl that’ll be easy for dipping. I used half a bag of chips for two rows of Oreos. Pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir. Pop it in for another 30 seconds… it should be 80-90% melted. Stir it and see if the extra 10-20% melts while you stir for a few seconds.
Start dipping the tops of your Oreos and then placing them Andes Mint side up on a wax paper lined cookies sheet.
Place in fridge for 30 minutes or so.
Repeat with the other side of the Oreo and put it back in the fridge.
This way is far easier than what I had Googled… for some dipped Oreos recipes called for a mold to place the Oreos in, this keeps it far more simple and allows anyone with a grocery store do this simple recipe.
Lastly, package it in a cute little way for your neighbors or friends to enjoy…
