It was a slow day for bathroom renovations yesterday but we definitely learned a lot. We had the plumber come by to hook up the toilet, sink and check AJ’s handiwork on the tub plumbing. We learned the hard way that when the back of the tile cement box says “24 – 72 hours drying time” it really means it even if the tiles seem completely adhered to the floor after 48 hours. We had a few tiles crack on the plumber… and so another five tiles were ordered from Home Depot yesterday evening. Live and learn, right?
Good news… the toilet is in and working! Bad news… since we can’t step on the tile to use it we are back at my parents’ house. Although, it’s a pretty great place to stay if I do say so. I just can’t wait to stop living out of a suitcase!
I’m itching to get home and start deep cleaning. AJ and I are hosting a Jack and Jill baby shower this weekend and the house needs a through cleaning thanks to construction dust everywhere. Since I can’t do anything to help AJ with the bathroom right now I’m brainstorming a valance… what is your opinion? Something neutral or something with a pop of color? I found all of these on Fabric.com, my new love for fabric choices (except for two of the Braemore prints which I found at another retailer online)… we are ordering Baby’s bedding fabric off of of Fabric.com and my mom is making the bumper and bed skirt; more on that another time. So weigh in… what number(s) would you choose if this was your bathroom?
