Okay, let’s move out into the hallway. Here was our sneak peek from yesterday with Mr. Drew and one of his beloved cars.
For about two years we’ve lived with the annoying last little bit of rug coming over into the stairway:
Well, no more! AJ pulled up the rug and we are left with staples and an unpainted stair.
But it’s worth it to have a floor that looking like this… it’s not all nailed into place which is why you see sort of a gap in the middle of the photo. AJ says the most time-consuming task is to cut each piece of wood to the exact length you need it to be.
And then it’s like a puzzle getting them all to fit together well…
Notice the last little bit of green linoleum under there?
Here is the transition from the hallway to the master bedroom.
The little lip in the bedroom will be sanded down to be the same height as the hallway.
Okay, so let’s get off the topic of fabulous hardwood floors and onto snow!
You know what I love? Coming downstairs and seeing this site, you can’t really tell too well from this photo but look at all the snow on the trees outside (second photo)!
Doesn’t the snow make the house look charming?
(How about you just ignore the algae or whatever that is under the right window box?)
This is what winter in New England should be… 30 degree days with gorgeous snow and never going below that temperature and the snow should never get icky looking. 🙂
A red cardinal would make this next photo just perfect. 🙂
