After getting my door home I had AJ help me saw the door but I did everything else, including hanging it (insert proud bow).
It looks a lot better than the ratty one that was torn apart!
Someone was napping while I took these pics. 🙂
In case you missed the post on the photos hanging in the stairway they are engineer prints from Staples. The whole wall cost $8. Yep.
We need to do some work on the railing and on the little dividing wall (AJ wants to redo it, hence the unfinished bottom).
Because it was a hollow core door I needed a piece of trim to cover up the ugly side. It’s still not done because I haven’t remembered to make the cut on the mini board while the kids are asleep for the night but I’ll get it done this weekend. After I make the cut I’m going to use white nails to secure it to the two wooden parts inside the door.
The hardware to look the gate still needs to go on but it’s spray painted oil-rubbed bronze to match the hinges and doorknobs already. We are just using the same lock that we had on the previous gate.
Lastly, here is my almost three year old! Yikkes! How does this happen so fast!? I was at Costco today with my mom and one of the sweet ladies giving out samples told me I had two beautiful children… and right away she said something like “it’s hard but it goes so fast… enjoy it”… I feel like people are so quick to tell you to enjoy it, it goes so fast but I loved that right away she acknowledged to me that it’s hard. Because it is. There are so many wildly challenging and tricky parts about parenting. And I don’t love every moment but my heart is full. And gosh am I learning a lot.
