Every fall I like to create a autumnal (I love that word) centerpiece that will last through the season. This year’s was based off the Japanese Lanterns my mother-in-law gave me when we went out to New York for the wedding this past weekend. I’m not usually a big orange person but I do like how it looks with the gray of the kitchen.
Under each of the little vases I used another piece of driftwood I got from this expedition.
The tan linen runner was from last year’s fall table and was just a $2 piece of fabric from Joann’s.
I’d love your advice here… Drew is one messy boy and I feel like I’m constantly bleaching the seat covers. The last time I bleached them they came out of the washer with bizarre yellowish blotches all over them. So, I’m thinking of dying our seat covers with tea. Have you ever done it before? Does it work well? What would you think of light tan covers instead of white? I think I’d like it better… it wouldn’t be as stark next to the table and it would pop a bit more against the board and batten.
