So I chopped the rug in half.
And stuck it into my washing machine.
It was much cleaner, and still soft, but had that matted look of sheep. Any “chic-ness” was gone. And it was still hard to vacuum and looked dirty in between washings. So guess where it is now? In the back of a garbage truck. Here is what the room looks like now:
A while back Mohawk rugs gave me a rug to review and I placed it into the Sunday School room I was teaching in at church until I needed it. Well, it’s back in my hands until I can find the right rug, at the right price, for this space.
Do you notice that there is a new chair in here as well? I’d purchased the white IKEA chair used for $25 and after about five years of using it my little guy eventually got the best of the chair and ruined the cushion.
So now I’m brainstorming ways to redo the chair to make it perfect for Elle’s nursery. I love the vintage lines, the nailhead trim and how it’s actually comfortable for nursing even though it doesn’t look like it’d be. And in fact, it’s better suited for nursing than the IKEA chair so maybe Drew tearing up the cushion was a good thing… 🙂
I’d love for you all to chime in…
How would YOU redo the chair?
What color fabric and what color / stain on the legs?
AND… if you are really just dying to voice your opinion…
Have you seen any affordable 5x8ish rugs that would be great for the space?
Envision dark hardwood floors when making the decision.
