We had money on a couple gift cards to Lowe’s left over from other gifts and I used some moula on them on these knobs ($20 total). I opted to use wood filler on the two drawers and make one single pull in the middle instead both for cost and looks.
It’s been WAY too long since I’ve posted a makeover.
When Fara, a friend from church, took me up to her barn and showed me this fabulous piece she didn’t have a use for I was smitten.
I bet you are cringing at the thought of me painting this piece.
It was fabulous. And in great condition.
But here’s why I did it:
I got the perfect night stand for my bedroom.
The height is perfection. The space amazing. The lines perfectly feminine.
I’m a big fan of acrylic knobs, especially these $5 ones that do a really great job at impersonating glass.
Okay… so this post is a sneak preview for my Show Some Love: Makeover Week. Country Chic Chalk Paints sent me four quarts of fabulous paint, including this one, Simply White. It was my first time using chalk paint and it was amazing… not drastically different from other paint, but I could definitely feel the chalk-y-ness to it and it painted beautifully. I opted to go for lighter coverage on the top of the nightstand for a little bit of a beachy look while using the acrylic knobs / pulls to make it pretty traditional and polished. Instead of using a poly on the top I just used their Natural Wax and it gave a slight, but gorgeous shine..
During the week preceding Valentine’s Day I’ll be showing off a makeover a day using Country Chic Chalk Paint so you definitely won’t want to miss that… I’ve got two pieces in my basement and am going to pick up two more tomorrow… Here’s your sneak peek for tomorrow’s post with my photographer in training (notice anything different?):
