Have you ever been on the receiving end of a hair cut that almost left you in tears and feeling like a man? I have. A couple of weeks ago I was itching for a trim and went to one of those cheapy laces for a trim. Probably not the smartest thing with short hair.
And you know when the first cut is made there is no going back… hair unfortunately cannot be glued back on. I told the stylist that I wanted my front pieces to right at my chin. “Okay” she said, and then cut them to my cheekbones.
I went home feeling like I looked like a chipmunk. Or maybe a mushroom. In drama queen fashion, I practically kept the hood up on my sweatshirt until morning when the kids were in the tub and I stood in our tiny bathroom talking to them and snipping. And snipping until I didn’t look quite so mushroomy.
A week later I went to my sister’s stylist (mine was booked) and came out with Jennifer Lawrence’s pixie cut. It takes me five minutes to dry and straighten it.
I’ve always wanted to try a pixie cut and I finally got the courage to walk into the salon and tell Kristen, the stylist, to go for it.
Oh, and do you notice the brace on my hand? That was from spending three hours in the ER on Saturday after falling on ice (its just a sprain). I’m pulling a Michael Jackson look with my one glove. 🙂 I had a whole photo session scheduled for this post with my sister and I fell right before we were going to start our photos. These were taken in a five minute time period by AJ in the backyard with a very fussy little girl the day after.
