- Acrylic Paint + Brush
- Arrow Design, Printed on Card Stock
The first thing I did was paint my entire canvas pink. I get so much joy out of using pink because I live with three boys, so Valentine’s is pretty much the only time of year when I get to decorate with such a girly color! 😀
Once my canvas was dry, it was time to add glitter! I placed my stencil where I wanted it and secured it with painter’s tape. I then used decoupage to fill in the shape and immediately sprinkled on the glitter.
I dumped off the extra glitter right away and removed my stencil; my design didn’t look perfect immediately. There was some excess decoupage around the edges of the arrow and glitter specks in different places on the canvas.
Thankfully decoupage is pretty forgiving, so I was able to scrape away any unwanted decoupage while it was still wet, and I used a tape donut to pick up any extra glitter. When it was finished drying, I was thrilled with the result!
I love simple pieces like this that are easy to make but can have a big impact in a vignette or display! Thanks again to Jen for inviting me today, and thank YOU for reading!
