Excuse the advertising for the barn board sign here but it really shows the side view of the island:
Here’s what it looks like now:
We gave everything a few good coats of paint and used some wood filler to make sure all the little places were filled in. This week I meticulously taped off all around the base of the island to make sure the paint was crisp right up to the floor.
Our bar stools fit perfectly under the island… and that space under there makes for a good hiding spot too. 🙂
Ahhh… I love how chunky it is now… and I love those happy forsythias!
The view from the side is so much more substantial… I love it!
Okay, speaking of kitchen happenings… look at what arrived on my door step the other day:
Have you ever seen such beautifully packaged cleaning supplies? It doesn’t compare to how I receive cleaning supplies from Target, that’s for sure. 🙂 Simply Spotless New York is a company started by interior designer Meryl Santopietro. She wanted to create products that she felt safe using on furniture she owned and were in her clients homes and that were environmentally friendly. I love this set that they sent… especially the glass and surface cleaner… It is so tricky to find a cleaner that is safe for our marble counter tops and this one does the trick. I’ve found the cleaners work just as well as the ones I’d been previously using but I love knowing all of them are environmentally friendly… and as a bonus they look great. 🙂
