Welcome to our fall home tour! As I type this I’m cuddled under a cozy blanket with my feet up on a furry ottoman. If you are just meeting our family we live in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA where it’s already getting close to the 30s at night. I love fall, I do… but it also makes me panicky as I think about winter. I mean, every day it comes closer to the days where I won’t warm up for five straight months. I already started my hot chocolate obsession in late August on a cool night.
I’m not big on spending buckets of money to decorate for fall. Partially because there are so many good free options for decorating this season but let’s be honest it mainly because I’m already brainstorming purchases I want to make for Christmas decorating. Welcome to our house. I decorated my front porch for fall HERE.
When you walk into our front door you’ll see our kitchen on the right and our living room on the left. Normally I decorate with blues, grays and aquas as a nod to living so close to the ocean but right now I love snipping leaves that are changing right out in our backyard. I know they won’t last forever but it’s so fun to bring the outside in and embrace all the gorgeous colors. I added small white pumpkins everywhere because it’s incredibly inexpensive and it’s so easy.
Our back entryway was decked out with pinecones, acorns and some painted Dollar Tree gourds.
One end of our living room is designated as the drop-zone. That term pretty accurately describes the complete lack of order that 90% of the time takes over the space. Right now I’ve got this fantastic scarf hanging that was in my PopSugar Must Have Box this month. It’s crazy soft but in a super luxurious way (not like a cuddly blanket, more like cashmere). It’s incredible so when I’m not obsessively wearing it it’ll go here.
Our living room has about a hundred dried hydrangeas in it that’ll last me till I start decorating for Christmas. My parents’ have this incredible bush that I just snip and snip off of all summer. Our mantle and the pallet box behind the couch were the lucky recipients of the flowers. Elle seems to think the flowers behind the couch are for her to hit and wave around even though I’ve tried to convince her otherwise. My apologies for the awful living room photos… I didn’t realize they were so bad until it was too late to go back and retake them.
I love bringing nature indoors like this:
I used this great wire basket I picked up on clearance at Pottery Barn years ago and filled it with white pumpkins, an old racket ball racket and a blue hydrangea that is slowly changing colors.
Our master bedroom was the only other room I added some fall touches to. The mantle had some gorgeous reds added with the addition of our clipped forsythia bush branches and some white pumpkins.
The new window in the walk in closet, behind the chair, brings in so much more light to the space. I love it… I love sitting this this chair now with my feet up on the furry ottoman that I just recovered.
That’s it for the fall home tour but I’m part of 35 other home bloggers who are sharing their gorgeous homes decked out for fall…. here are today’s gorgeous tours. They’ll be live at 8am EST. Have a wonderful day!
POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box (that’s where I got the fabulous looking scarf that you see above plus other incredible fall themed goodies like Nicole Miller ear buds, candy and a Nike gift card, ). The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.
