Today is one of those days when you don’t even want to be outside without two jackets on. The wind is so out of control it turned one of our porch rocking chairs upside down and blew it halfway down the porch but the sun is just incredible and every room feels warm even while it seems out of control outside… Today I’m sharing an incredibly easy winter front door wreath. I wanted to make something that I could pop up during Christmas or for these next couple of months until the spring decor and flowers start popping up… but judging by the 2.5 feet of snow surrounding our house I’m guessing that won’t be any time soon. 🙂
Remember how I made birch chair wreaths a few months ago? I used the exact same steps to create this wreath except with a larger square wreath I purchased from Michaels. You can see the instructions for how I created it HERE.
The ice-skate is secured just by wrapping the laces around the wreath and then around the door knocker. The plaid ribbon feels really cozy and wintery without being specifically Christmas ribbon and it coordinates well with the plaid navy pillows I have on the rockers (well, actually, they were thrown into the basement when the incredible winds started to blow them around the yard. :)).
There you go. A super easy winter weekend project… we are having friends over for a simple dinner of BLTs tonight. What are you up to?
