Yesterday the kids and I went to Trader Joe’s and grabbed two bunches of pink tulips for my parents and sister… we had them over for a Valentine’s Breakfast this morning and used their flowers as centerpieces.
I’ve been working on tweaking this great recipe for waffles that I found on All Recipes a few weeks ago and made that for everyone this morning… I’ll share the recipe once I feel I’ve got it down. 🙂 I made the table design ultra simple with just our white dishes, the pink tulips and some pink depression glass. My mom’s step-mother is amazing at scouting out depression glass for me and I’ve got this great assortment of all sorts of pink pieces.
We never go out on Valentine’s Day… for the past three years we’ve made it an annual tradition to make coconut shrimp, it is one of our traditions that I love and look forward to the most. It’s pretty much the only time of the year we make them so it feels extra special. We had no other special plans today and I’ve been working on my goal of organizing and purging a space a day. Call me crazy but I really look forward to that time. I joined Freecycle to get rid of items and whenever people come to the house to collect them they act like you’ve just given them the moon. Earlier this week I worked for a few hours on the basement and today I tackled my closet under the eves in our bedroom. Four bags of stuff are now on the Freecycle board.
What are you up to today? Anything wildly romantic or incredibly practical like organizing a closet? 🙂
