Remember how I told you we had this goal to pay off our debts this year? One of the way I am attempting to help with this goal is to redo some furniture and sell it, but you already know I love doing this. 🙂
When I walked into one of my favorite thrift stores I found this dynamite piece and knew it needed a makeover. Here it is with the spotted look of wood filler all over it.
It’s not even that bad with the darker color but there was a lot of damage that needed to be repaired and I saw how beautiful it would look in a dark gray. I wish I had a great background to take the photos in instead of our living room with the unfinished drywall but we’ll take what we can get now. After all, it’s new and clean and shortly will be painted.
I used Country Chic Paint’s Rocky Mountain, a color I adore. The coverage was amazing… Some of the hutch only had one coat on it and it looked great.
I staged the hutch with fluffy white towels… I would love a piece like this in our home to serve as a linen cabinet but we unfortunately don’t have the space for something like it.
For now all of our towels are stored in my closet in a giant bag. Glamorous, right? 🙂
I opted to reuse all the original hardware because I thought it was so gorgeous and unique. Don’t you love that stunning detail work on the hutch?
This piece was snagged by someone in town to put into her dining room. I love knowing the person who now owns a piece I put a lot of work into.
What do you think? Isn’t it a dynamite piece with gorgeous lines and beautiful hardware?
