At the beginning of this winter AJ found this house. It was a funny situation.; it was a foreclosure and it seemed that the previous owner had been working on rehabbing it but had only completed part of the kitchen. Brand new cabinets were installed with granite counters but absolutely everything else was pretty awful. The house smelled like urine and I have never seen such awful walls covered in grime (and trust me, we’ve toured some pretty awful places). But it was an unbeatable price and nothing that a little elbow grease and a couple of months of labor couldn’t fix. Today I’m going to show you some before photos… we’ve already made a lot of progress but I’ll show that to you later this week.
Let me give you the tour:
This blue bedroom was unbelievable…
The master bedroom was definitely the best room upstairs with the most normal paint colors and the least staining on the carpet.
The stairs were covered in carpet that was a color in between teal and forest green.
We are really fortunate that we can reuse the cabinets and the countertop. The previous owner chose some pretty classic designs that’ll work well for our plans with some new flooring and stainless appliances.
The living room is in decent shape. There are definitely some spots I need to work on with the plaster but for the most part it just needs some paint and to have the floor refinished.
Can’t wait to show you some in progress photos later this week!
What do you think? Are you as excited about the possibilities here as we were? This is our second flip and we’ve already made better decisions planning this one out…it’s good to see lessons learned… and as a result to see an easier job. in front of us
