Last night we were able to bring my parents and sister over to the soon-to-be new house to let them walk around and see it. The current owners are moving out some things so it was fun to see it closer to the state that it’ll look like when it’s ours in two and a half weeks. The kids adore the house. There is so much space for running around which they LOVE. They never stop moving there. As I mentioned before I’m only going to show you the outside till we officially own it out of respect to the current owners but you’ll get an inside tour at the beginning of August. In the meantime, follow my New House Pinterest board to see some of the ideas I’m gathering.
The owners have been wonderful about keeping up with the landscaping; they yard is filled with mature trees and bushes without being wild looking or over-grown. AJ and I have talked about switching up the paint on the front of the house by adding in a trim color and changing the shutter and door color but nothing needs to be be painted so it’s not a rush.
I told you before we are planning on renting out the master suite and I said that it could be completely separate… now you can see how. The master suite is the area above the garage. Under the roof that connects the main house to the garage is basically a hallway of closets so we won’t be able to even hear a renter.
Let’s move on… Remember I said when we lost the bid on the other house that I had already been researching moving announcements / house-warming party invites? Well, Minted was the site that I was spending most of my time on. Have you heard of them? It’s a pretty great concept. Designers or artists can win a chance to have their work sold on Minted so there are loads of different designers who have come up with some really creative invitations or pieces of art. I think you’ll realize my affinity for the color blue when you scroll through my card choices. 🙂 Oh, and Minted addresses them for free too. It’s a pretty great set up.
Doesn’t this one remind you so much of the door on our current house? I loved it as soon as I saw it!
I’m actually not considering this one because we are moving two miles away but wouldn’t this be adorable if you did move across the country?
Minted also offers amazing artwork and a few of those pieces would look gorgeous in the new digs. I think the artwork will give you an idea for the colors and look I’m going for in this house. I don’t think it’ll be too much of a surprise that I’m gravitating towards the same colors that I did in our current house. Click HERE to be taken to their new artwork. I think this first one would look amazing framed above the fireplace.
What do you think of the house and what moving announcement would you choose?
This is a sponsored post by Minted.com, one of the best new sites for invitations and art that I’ve seen in a long time. All opinions are my own.
