This restaurant is the kind of place that made me think I must have been out of my mind every time the thought entered my mind to give up bread. My mom had been raving about Biscuits & Company since we first arrived in Maine last Saturday and then steadily mentioned it in conversation until we went on Wednesday morning. When I forgot my camera she made sure I ran back in to get it (how often is it that you need your good camera to go out to breakfast?). She and I were both worried her hype would leave me disappointed.
On the contrary. She should have hyped it up more.
Stacey started Biscuits & Company after a Shark Tank like competition. The town of Biddeford, Maine was looking to revitalize the downtown and this restaurant has been going strong since it opened in December.
The menu is incredible. I once read that the best way to determine how good a restaurant is is to order their basic burger. Well, since this restaurant specializes in biscuits, not burgers, I ordered the basic egg and biscuit sandwich. It was one of the best things I’ve ever put into my mouth.
Local artisans made the amazing furniture out of reclaimed wood and welded the unique table tops.
This restaurant is an inspiration design-wise, and, if you are ever in the Biddeford, Maine area, a complete culinary delight (I might have heard that phrase and Julie & Julia and have wanted to use it. :)).
See you again here on Thursday morning or before on Instagram!
