Every once in a while I like to pop in with some useful tips. Like the couple of “Finding it Cheaper” posts I’ve done on the Dollar Store and Kirklands. I figure there are a lot of people reading this blog who specialize in DIY and getting things done in an affordable way. That’s like the story of our life in order to do the things we do and to allow me to stay at home with the kids. I’m always looking for ways to save money (like buying our water goblets at the Dollar Tree) or searching for coupon codes before I buy anything online. I struggled whether to share this post because I didn’t want you to think I was just doing it for the “referring of friends” credit or because I’m trying to sell you something (I hate when bloggers are always trying to sell something). I wanted to just put this neat program in front of you and let you decide what to do about it.
About a year ago AJ and I were watching TV and I saw a commercial about EBATES. Have you ever heard of it? It sounded like this too good to be true program where you log in through the EBATES website and basically get paid to shop. At the time we were purchasing some appliances for a rental and I thought I’d see if it really worked. I made $43.00 just by purchasing something I would have just gone to the Home Depot website to buy. It took me about five minutes to sign up for EBATES. They have a handy little button you add to your screen so that you can see if any of the sites you are on offer an EBATES discount you can activate. It is zero extra work for you and for whatever reason you get the discount in the form of a check mailed to you after you’ve made the purchase.
I don’t want you to be skeeved out by me so let me assure you: This is NOT a sponsored post and I’ve had to pay ZERO dollars to be part of this program.
Once you activate your EBATES account you can add the button at the top right of your screen. Let’s say I wanted to go shop at Nordstrom.com. This is what you’ll see to let you know just to press the button and activate your discount at that specific website.
When I was on Target.com the other day (ordering diapers as part of a baby gift) I activated the 2% back at Target and then they have this added feature so you can be aware of every coupon code available at the time. I was always Googling coupons to use at checkout and now I don’t have to because they are all here, and up to date. I’m pretty obsessed with this feature. If any of the coupons were applicable to my diapers I could just click on the Get Deal button and it would activate the savings.
After you make your purchase your Cash Back will be totaled on the EBATES page and you’ll get your check every quarter (or you can use PayPal). I didn’t purchase much this past quarter so my check was only $16.67 but I wanted to show you the actual photo of my check so that you can see that it isn’t some scam company who promises something and then doesn’t follow through. 🙂
As an added bonus, EBATES offers an incentive to tell your friends about this program in the form of cash back. Maybe a good thing for you to pop on your Facebook wall?
You can read about that HERE.
When I bought the diapers for the baby gift the other day I felt like I was beating the system. I did it through the Target website to get the 2% EBATES discount, then used my Target card to get an additional 5% off discount and then picked up in the store to avoid shipping (or I could have shipped it for free). Anyways, I’ll leave it at that.
You can sign up HERE
I’ll get a referring friends credit for you signing up here. You won’t have to pay more for an item because you went through this link. If, for whatever reason, you are skeeved out by using my sign up link you can go to the EBATES homepage and sign up there. Either way you’ll be getting cash back! 🙂
Come back on Tuesday morning for a post about our dining room… I can’t wait to share it with you and show the table I’ve got my eye on. I’ve got a different set up going on from our previous house and I’m loving the current look! Also starting Tuesday… remember how I shared that I wanted to make this blog be a place of nourishment and helpfulness? I’m starting a “Nourish” section at the bottom of (hopefully) every post. I’m really excited about this!
