For months I have been dreaming about these gorgeous chairs in our office and now I’m sitting in one typing this blog post. I had this vision for the office to be light and bright, which it definitely is even with the navy walls. The faux leather couch the home’s prior owners graciously gave us was dark and didn’t look right with the navy walls even though it was good looking. As I always do I try to figure out a way to get something for our home with spending the minimum amount of money while getting the maximum impact.
I had $300 in Wayfair gift cards, sold the couch for $150 and then had a 10% off coupon. These chairs cost me $73 after that. I consider that a major success… especially because there are a lot of other big purchases we have in mind for the house. Because I was trying to do these on a budget it was very appealing to me that each one was affordable for a gorgeous upholstered arm chair but looked like a far more expensive chair like this one from Pottery Barn. I read the reviews and person after person said that it was an incredible deal for the money spent. Done.
I was a little nervous about what color would it be based off reading all the reviews but I can tell you it’s perfect for this room. They are listed as gray and they are but they are sort of that incredible mixture of a gray / tan / white. Sort of like a chameleon color. 🙂
This room is going to be the spot where AJ and I meet with real estate clients if they come over our home to talk. We wanted a space that was welcoming, stylish, classy and practical. Once I get some curtains up there I will say the vision is complete.
The chairs are out of stock now but are expected back on August 5. AJ and I have talked about creating a sitting area with four chairs in the space that is sort of living room / sort of kitchen now when we redo the kitchen and I would absolutely consider buying these chairs for the space. I love them. They are classy, comfortable (even though they feel a little hard when you first sit down) and, as far as I can tell, well made. They were shipped in a box that perfectly protected them with a covering over them that reminded me so much of what AJ had to wear for my c-section when I gave birth to Drew. How’s that for a weird image?
This spot is becoming my new favorite spot to read in the morning before everyone wakes up. I’m close enough to the stairs to hear either of the kids yet far enough away that they don’t hear me (at least too much). If you missed it on Thursday I’ve teamed up with Canvas Factory to offer a reader a 16×20 canvas like the one above this chair. More details here, but the giveaway is only open until tomorrow night.
My parents’ hydrangea bushes are blooming in full force so I covered the small table, the desk and the storage piece with some of them. Aren’t they so pretty?
