It’s mid-day on Sunday and I’m sitting in bed in my comfy leggings and sweater typing while it pours outside. Rainy fall Sundays are the perfect nap day, don’t you agree? As I sit cuddled up in bed I’m writing about a fall table, which could work perfectly for a casually elegant Thanksgiving dinner. I set it this way for our dinner the other night when I made chicken pot pie and one of my favorite incredibly easy fall salads. The starting place for this tablescape were these pumpkin soup bowls that I spotted while at the Better Homes and Gardens event in July. I am obsessed with them. I ordered twelve so I’d be all set for Thanksgiving… we might be hosting this year and I’m so excited! They are the perfect medium size for a bowl of salad or soup and best of all they are under $5 each (which is ridiculously cheaper than Pottery Barn’s not quite as cute ones). In my little table set up I added in the matching salt and pepper shakers and then a gorgeous marble and wood cake stand on a jute runner. My marble cake stand has already been layer with oatmeal raisin cookies and will probably get some homemade banana bread on it later this week… I couldn’t be happier with how these pieces work together with the very natural centerpiece… a casual elegance.
If for whatever reason you can’t find the products online (the salt and pepper shakers are only sold in stores) then hit your local Walmart… mine had a lot of the soup bowls and salt and pepper shakers!
If you snag any of these pieces I’d love to see how they come to life in your home… tag me on Instagram or email me a photo (firstname.lastname@example.org). Happy Sunday, Friends… I’m off to nap while the kids are still snoozing!
