I always hate cleaning up Christmas things… the house always feels so dull and sad after the twinkling lights leave. This year I intentionally used far less greens everywhere so I’d have less of a mess through the season to cleanup (such a good decision!). Instead of greens I placed ornaments everywhere. When Balsam Hill asked me to share their ornament storage, after getting one of their trees this year, I was game, especially because every year I try to buy a few more nice ornaments.
Every year it’s a pain to pack up all the ornaments and individually wrap each one. This year’s clean up was such a breeze. I was able to simply fold over the tree and pop the tree cover on both the top and bottom half and wheel it to the stairs. The Balsam Hill ornament storage chest made cleaning up the ornaments a breeze. The individual sections are large enough for nearly every ornament I own, save the incredibly long ones. I have plenty of very good sized and heavy ornaments and the storage chest was easily able to handle them. I didn’t have to wrap a single ornament that went in the chest. It’s pretty heavy to bring up stairs… but that’s why I have AJ. In all seriousness, though, if I didn’t have him to bring the whole thing up at once I had a plan to bring each bin up individually and then seal the whole storage chest up in the attic. It would be my stair workout for the day and it would have been light enough to easily do that. Win Win. 🙂
How do you store your Christmas decor? Do you individually wrap each one, like I’d done for years, or do you have a storage system? Do you have traditions around cleaning up? I just took everything down when Elle and I laid low this week while she was down for the count with a fever. We watched Zootopia and put away gorgeous Christmas decor… a pretty good combo!
I’m excited to share my 2017 Goals with you on Tuesday. Until then, Friends!
I received an ornament storage chest from Balsam Hill as compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.
