We had a blast visiting AJ’s family over break. We went to church, had an Easter egg hunt then brunch at the Colgate Inn. After spending the morning with AJ’s mom and stepdad we went to AJ’s dad and step mom’s house. The kids played on the hammock forever. It was a perfect Easter.
AJ and I were feeling the need to have a little respite during his spring break and while out in upstate New York visiting his family for Easter we took off for 24 hours. We did our first wine tasting together. I had a million questions. We had fun deciding what we liked and didn’t like and why. I always hear people say things like “hints of pineapple” “dry oak tasting” “undertones of strawberries” and all I hear is pretentiousness. But once I listened to the women hosting the tasting they made it clear why things tasted the way they did. I’m certainly no expert now, and will just keep buying my $8 Barefoot Pinot Grigio because I like it more than everything I tried.
Here’s a look that I wore to the vineyards the first day… I definitely gravitate toward the same colors in clothes that I do in home decor. My two favorite places to shop (besides Marshalls) are the Banana Republic and J. Crew outlets… and both are online now in case you don’t live near an outlet mall. I’ve found the pieces I’ve linked are the exact ones I own and they are only $1-3 more than they are at the outlet mall.
All in all it was a great long weekend and we are back home now attempting to tackle some projects during the rest of the vacation week. We just listed a great little cottage in Gloucester so AJ was up showing that last night for a few hours after we got home while I go the house back in order again. How cute is the kitchen??
