Well. 2020 did not enable us to get loads of projects done around the house but it was fun to round up some of our highlights. This summer we replaced all our outdoor lights (thanks to Kichler!) and I love how simple and updated they are compared to our last ones. Oh, and we also finally finished painting the house thanks to bucking up and hiring people. Sometimes DIY doesn’t go as fast as we planned. Okay never since painting our house took three years.
That window above is no longer there… come back Saturday morning to see the updated look!
AJ then built an outdoor shower (something we’ve wanted to do since we moved to this house)… it’s still not complete because we couldn’t decide on what we wanted for the sides but it was SO HELPFUL all summer for after our nearly daily beach trips… not having gobs of sand in the house from people treking up to the bathroom was amazing. Of course I have no photos of cute sandy kids in it but I’ll be sure to post one in six or so months when it’s useable again.
Then once homeschooling started we halted almost all projects except for AJ’s Saturday trips down to the rooming house we purchased (it needed a complete renovation). In November we added built ins to the office from IKEA to make the space more functional for our new daily life, got rid of my favorite desk and added in a farmhouse table that Drew, Elle and I can all sit at for school. I like the look of the last office better but this works for us this year… we will reevaluate after things return to normal! We still need to add crown and baseboards to the built in but it’s functional now and it’s been amazing to have so much storage space.
Come back on Saturday morning for part two. I can’t wait to share with you about our exterior window, master bedroom progress and some work we did to the kids bath! The post is going live at 5am EST.
